Belo Horizonte: Gastronomy and Architecture

By Andre Franchini at 04/06/09 16:17

Belo Horizonte is well known internationally for its bar scene, that comprises more than 1,000 bars. They range from the cheapest and grubby ones to some really sophisticated alternatives. The fame and cultural value was the main purpose to the creation of the Comida di Buteco festival. It unites bars around Belo Horizonte to compete and see who can offers the best tidbit.

Belo Horizonte is also recognized for its architectural value, since most of Oscar Niemeyer work is presented in town. Niemeyer is a Brazilian architect and is considered to be one of the most important names in modern architecture. The Pampulha Complex and the new Administrative Centre are some of its consistent and magnificent work in town.

Based on all Belo Horizonte has to offer, and the actual lack of good and reliable travel information available online, travellers should now be comforted. The whl.travel, a network of local websites with sustainable initiatives, has now a website for Belo Horizonte. Travellers wanting to go to spend some time there can now go to Belo Horizonte Hotel website and look for responsible tours and accommodations, and also all sorts of information. The network has expanded to more than 15 destinations and expects to close the first semester with 30 online Brazilian websites.
