Interestingly, Brasilia is one of those capital cities that were made to be a capital city from the very start. It is unlike one of those cities that naturally transpired and later on became the capital of the nation.
Brasilia was made in the 50's because of the intention of the government back then to move the federal capital to the heart of the nation, where it is safer from naval attacks and is less populated. Today, the city of Brasilia has around 2 million people.
